2024 Investitures of Certified SOBs
Here are the 2024 investitures, in the order they were earned:
___
"Mount Vernon"
Matt Hall – June 8, 2024

Mount Vernon is a central Baltimore neighborhood named after George Washington’s estate in
Virginia and is the site of the nation’s first monument to Washington with the cornerstone laid in
1815, and is noted for the public parks on all four sides of the monument. Star Spangled Banner
author, Francis Scott Key, died in the neighborhood in 1843. The area is home to the Peabody
Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, the Maryland Historical Society and many other
cultural organizations.

Xander Sobecki - September 7, 2024

Approximately 50 duels were held between 1808-1868 at this grove in Bladensburg, to settle
“affairs of honor” between two gentlemen. Just a few miles northeast of our nation’s capital,
Maryland did not enforce laws regarding dueling as vigorously as the District of Columbia. This
investiture serves as a reminder to stay in Xander’s good graces.
